Trip to Boston Manor House
On Thursday 5th October, a group of Year 1 and 2 pupils visited Boston Manor House.
After walking to Boston Manor Park, the children enjoyed a picnic lunch and a play in the playground. They then visited two rooms in Boston Manor House where they saw examples of different historical wallpapers. The children were fascinated to learn that the wallpapers were over 200 years old. They also loved looking at the ornate fireplaces.
The children took part in an art workshop to create their own wallpaper design. They created a stamp using foam and card, which they inked using rollers. They then used their stamps to create repeating patterns. The children and adults all had a brilliant time.
Thank you so much to the team at Boston Manor House!
If you would like to visit the newly refurbished Boston Manor House, it is now open to the public. Opening times are Tuesday to Sunday 12 noon to 5pm - entry is free.
