Saluting our Sisters - Black History Month 2023
This month is Black History Month.
In our assembly on Monday, we talked about the theme of this years event; Saluting our Sisters. We looked at a number of significant black women who have made amazing contributions to life in Britain, both in the past and today. We talked about some of the challenges they have faced and why they are important.
This week the children will be creating pieces of art based on the poem 'The Bronze Woman' and will be investigating the contributions of black women in the fields of science, entertainment, business, reform and justice.
