Good roots run deep

As part of our new topic, Reception went on a walk to explore the River Thames at Waterman's. 

We talked about what we could see, including the island and the bridge and were very lucky to see lots of different birds including Canadian geese, swans and a heron. The children were so enthusiastic about the things they saw and confidently shared their ideas about the buildings they spotted on the way, the river and the effects of pollution. 

The children then had the chance to play in the playground, where they demonstrated their climbing, swinging and balancing abilities.
