Exploring Microhabitats

As part of our science unit on Living Things and their Habitats, we went outside to explore the microhabitats around our school. We made observations about the mini-beasts that were living in these microhabitats and thought about how these creatures were well suited to their habitats. Microhabitats we found included in the grass, underneath a pile of leaves, under a plant pot and in between paving stones. We found a range of mini-beasts including ladybirds, earwigs, ants, worms, snails and spiders.
