Good roots run deep

​This half term, Year 5/6 have been learning about 'The Blitz'. As part of the topic, the children were tasked with building bomb shelters that would be able to withstand a 2kg weight when dropped from a height of 2 metres. 

Groups had to work together to measure, saw and glue their main frames and consider ways in which to further strengthen their designs. After a couple of weeks of construction, we tested out our bomb shelters on the school playground.
