5/6L explore Turner’s House

Today 5/6L had the opportunity to explore a home designed and lived in by the artist Turner. After studying and recreating some of his seascapes in Topic, it was fascinating to see some of the inspiration and sketches from his career and consider how they formed his painting style. The children were able to tour his house (which is now a Museum), enjoy lunch in his garden in the sunshine, and take part in an interesting watercolours workshop.
They were introduced to 2 new painting techniques and had a go at creating their own watercolour pieces before sharing them with others. I was really impressed with their concentration and how quickly they picked up the new painting techniques.
