Good roots run deep

This term in science 3B are learning about rocks. Today we explored a number of different types of rocks. We looked at their patterns and colours, felt their texture and tested them to see how hard they were, using files and marking tools Then we weighed them before testing to see if they floated or sunk and then weighed them again to see if they were permeable or not. The children enjoyed investigating the different rocks and comparing them to each other.
